Energy Project Tracking

Wonderware EBS Energy Project Tracking module provides an intuitive user-interface for automated tracking of energy efficiency projects.

As an extension to EBS (Enterprise Billing Solution), the Energy Project WW EBS 150pxTracking module provides the EBS user with an intuitive user-interface to track energy consumption and cost savings achieved in energy efficiency upgrades or Retro-Commissioning (RCx) efforts, throughout project implementation and upon project completion. It allows EBS users to verify whether or not the project was helpful and if the project was a valuable investment. In addition, the module allows web-based access to increase project awareness throughout the campus.

How it Works

The Energy Project Tracking moduleEBS Screenshot uses the utility consumption and cost data stored within EBS to provide verification of savings achieved. The module does this by comparing the values to a timeframe before the building implemented the energy efficiency project. For example, the module will compare the savings achieved during the project implementation against the cost and consumption values from the previous year in that same period (or against baseline data).

Through the EBS client, users can define the project specifications by selecting the relevant building and start time. The Energy Project Tracking module will automatically apply the baseline to compare the data and will track the changes against the specified baseline. EBS users can also export the data to Excel or generate energy project reports directly from the client application.

Within EBS Web, users can view the energy project tracking data that was defined in the EBS client in user-friendly graphs, charts and reports. EBS Web will display the data before, during, and after implementation of an energy project and provide a visual comparison of the information in a single chart. The graphs are organized by commodity type (electricity, chilled water, steam, etc) and the user is able to filter by commodity type when viewing the displays. EBS Web also allows the user to export the data behind the chart to Excel for further manipulation where required. In addition, users can see the cumulative cost and consumption savings after project implementation, as well as convert the savings into carbon emissions.


Many campus utility managers track energy project metrics by manually entering data into spreadsheets.  Which can be very time consuming and prone to errors. The Energy Project Tracking module automates this process by taking advantage of the data that is stored in EBS as part of the monthly billing process.  

The Energy Project Tracking module will automatically and accurately track savings (consumption and cost) and provide detailed information per building and commodity.  All this data is stored in a central repository and is accessible via reports and our web-based tool, making this data available throughout the campus.
