Real-time Services are a category of eDNA Services representing many different types of Services. Services are distinguished as real-time services if they respond to the set of messages known as real-time messages. Typical real-time services collect data from various external systems, such as, mainframe process computers, SCADA sub masters, PLCs, data-loggers, and low-level I/O gear. Gathered information is maintained in uniform current-value-tables internal to the real-time service and generate data periodically, log data to an archive and notify an Alarm Service on changes in point status. Real-time Services differ in the way they collect or generate real-time data. The data can be in any form; it is the real-time services' responsibility to convert the data to a usable form.
Real-time services interface with the eDNA History Service, Alarm Service, and Config Service. Please feel free to contact us about the current list of existing Real-Time Services that are in production.
