CHICAGO, IL - September 8, 2008 - InStep Software,
LLC, a leading provider of real-time software systems and solutions, announced today that Hidd Independent Power
& Water Company (HPC), located in the Kingdom of Bahrain, has selected InStep's eDNA as their plant historian.
Owned by the consortium of International Power, Sumitomo Corporation and GDFSuez, the station provides 100% of its 968 MW combined cycle gas power plant and 90 million gallon of water plant capacity to the Bahrain Electricity and Water
Authority.
The eDNA system will collect, store, and monitor approximately 50,000 data streams from two ABB Advant and one Siemens PCS7 distributed control systems. InStep's client applications, eDNA View, eDNA Trend, and the eDNA Excel Add-in, will be used for plant operations analysis and reporting. William King, Hidd Production Director, says,
"the eDNA software will be used to support key operational decisions we make at Hidd which is responsible for a significant amount of the island's
demand for electricity and water."
