CHICAGO, IL - February 13, 2003 - InStep Software, LLC, announced today that it has been awarded a five-year, Blanket Purchase Agreement by the CADD/GIS Technology Center for a range of engineering-centric software development, support and maintenance projects. The BPA is inclusive to other government agencies that are members of the CADD/GIS Technology Center, including all military branches, NASA and others Civilian Agency partners. The contract does not call for minimum purchases, but currently allows for up to $5 million in projects annually, with a maximum of $15 million over the five-year period. InStep is in the process of exercising proposal requests that will function under the terms of the BPA.
InStep Software's Consulting Group has worked with the Center and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for several years on projects relating to National Engineering Standards and various Application Technologies, and has been awarded this contract based on best value and ability to perform at the high technical levels required by these agencies. The requirements and process for using the BPA are minimal. Any USACE Contracting Officer may place orders under the BPA directly with InStep, and delegations of procurement authority will be issued to all other USACE CADD/GIS Center partners by the USACE Vicksburg Consolidated Contracting Office (VCCO) on request.
Services performed under this contract vehicle will involve efforts related to CADD and FM initiatives and related applications and work process automation. This includes, but is not limited to: supporting the development and implementation of standards, providing system integration tools and services, supporting centralized acquisition projects, and providing assistance with the installation, training, operation and maintenance for these technologies.
"The U.S. Army Corps sets the stage for all infrastructure design and build activities of significant scope that the government is connected with. Our consulting group has already launched a number of products that assist the Corps and their commercial vendors to deal with the enormous issue of conformance to standards.", said InStep president, John B. Kalanik, Jr. "We are gratified that at this time of national security concerns and with an increased need for rapid development and deployment of all public and military projects, the USACE has selected InStep as one of their advanced technology partners."
