CHICAGO, IL - February 1, 2006 - InStep Software, LLC,
a leading provider of real-time software systems and solutions, announced today that Florida Power & Light has selected its flagship product eDNA to serve as the real-time foundation for their substation asset management solution.
InStep's eDNA software will collect data from a variety of sources including FP&L's transmission equipment and SCADA/EMS systems. This data will be stored on-line as a long term archive using InStep's advanced historian technology and the eDNA calculation engine will be used to implement analysis algorithms. This information will then provide the foundation to drive FP&L's Performance Analysis and Transmission Condition Assessment applications.
InStep's eDNA Web technology will provide advanced visualization of the transmission information across the enterprise. InStep Software Vice President Anthony Maurer said, "We are very pleased to be working with a most forward thinking and leading power provider such as FPL. Our continued success with large transmission and distribution power providers further demonstrates our commitment to provide the most scalable and advanced historian solution possible".
