Wonderware eDNA RDBMS Connectivity

The eDNA SQL interface is a standard eDNA interface that provides an optimized bi-directional gateway between the eDNA software platform and any other database supporting the Structured Query Language (SQL). Real-time and historical data from eDNA can be written into relational databases such as SQL Server and Oracle. Data can also be continuously collected in real-time from these databases and archived in the eDNA historian. Data is seamlessly transferred from SQL databases and processed within the eDNA current value table. The data can be archived and accessed by other eDNA applications such as the eDNA calculation engine for creating calculated values and the eDNA client application for trending, graphical display and reporting. Companies are increasingly transferring their real-time continuously streaming time series data from SQL databases to eDNA to achieve the most efficient archiving of continuously streaming data. eDNA is often used as a buffer to reduce the loading on relational databases and to provide rapid retrieval of this information using the eDNA client applications, interfaces and programming interfaces.

Wonderware eDNA Universal Service

The eDNA Universal Service provides for the ability to rapidly develop customized interfaces to the eDNA historian. The Universal Service programming interface supports data buffering, point/tag creation and editing and redundancy for simplified design and development.

  • General purpose data interface for eDNA (Defined Data Structure)
  • TCP/IP communication protocol
  • Real-time data processing
  • Integrated data buffering (store and forward)
  • Programmatic point/tag creation and editing
  • Native integration with eDNA Redundancy
